We’re living in evolutionary times. Mankind is evolving and we’re at the precipice of a spiritual revolution. We’re moving beyond religion which was a spiritual template that worked in earlier times when we as human beings were content to follow leaders. To let others distill spirituality down for us into actionable steps and a set of standards to live by.
Spirituality has always been a thing. But for awhile it was contained in a box with finite walls and there it was kept very well. With a trusted gate keeper, the elder or priest. He was pious and honest and could be trusted. Until he couldn’t.
And now we see it was all a lie. Even Taylor Swift is on the band wagon with her latest song about the smallest man and a reference to the religion with the most ex members seeking escape from the cult like control of narcissistic opportunists, she uses it as a dis on a look. How did we get here? And where do we go from here? We certainly cannot entrust our spirituality to elders and priests. Or influenced spiritual influencers for that matter. A few recent Netflix documentaries have shown light on Twin Flames Universe and QAnon as bullshit. Bullshit that a lot of people believed. Read my blog about Magenta Pixie here. Sound familiar? A lot of people also believed religious dogma for 100s of years. How do we throw out the dirty bath water of religion and hierarchical structures of cult leaders without throwing out spirituality? How do we replace the sense of connection and community that is so critical to mental health and http://wellness with connection that denounces a top down religious template while still honoring our intuitive knowing about the nature of soul self and spiritual realms within our capacity to sense?
We’ve evolved beyond religion. We are leaning into our individual and collective consciousness. Whenever we raise our consciousness all that is no longer aligned with our new level of awareness falls away. We can experience a dark night of the soul. Like a snake shedding its skin. This can feel like a huge loss if we aren’t expecting the shift. Change can be hard if we’re not used to flowing. Many will mourn the loss. And some will stay, un-evolved as the last hangers on of an old paradigm, kicking and screaming until there is nothing left to hold on to. But for the evolved we will find ourselves in a new place. One where the old template and patterns that had a grip on us are no longer relevant. We will wonder how we ever existed within those confining walls. It will all seem so archaic and limiting from our greater perspective. And it was. But we shouldn’t beat our selves up about it. We couldn’t see it then. And maybe some in our family still can’t see it.
Forgiveness is a great tool. We release the bitterness and the resentment and the feelings that something deeply gratifying and freeing was withheld from us, when we forgive ourselves and those who are still stuck in old templates and limiting beliefs. Maya Angelou famous for saying something along the lines of when we know better we do better. That is to say, forgive yourself for the past, always assume you were doing the best you could with the information you had at the time. And now that your consciousness has reached a new height gaining perspective – you can make new decisions based on what you know now.
This new way of honoring our spirituality without containers and limitations put on us by religious templates requires some alertness. We cannot go along in auto pilot reciting our amens and Hail Marys. We have to discern what is true. We have to attune to a vibration of truth. We cannot just hear the word “truth” and jump to the conclusion that the label fits the material. As an ex- Jehovah’s Witness I can tell you that this tactic of labeling untruth as truth and abuse as love and control as safety – it’s all there to be reckoned with. By each one of us. We have to discern truth from fiction. We have to tap into our intuitive knowing. We have to differentiate between what sounds believable and what is actually true. with full awareness that we are the products of generations of social conditioning and societal norms that have influence over our mind’s conclusions. We cannot even trust our own thoughts which are part of the program. The revolution is an inside one. One that will have ramifications on the exterior but that starts within our self.
There are a lot of YouTube channels dedicated to ex-JWs. I always give props to anyone brave enough to come out and share their story publically. I think there is a lot of healing that comes from reclaiming our truth and hearing that we may no be alone in our experience. Especially in a religion where gas lighting was the foundation of systematic brain washing. But I find it is not helpful to spend time or energy trying to refute or dispel religious beliefs and doctrines. A co dependent person can spend a lot of energy arguing with a narcissist and refuting their lies but at the end of the day all you’ve done is give all of your energy to narcissist who will just re-write history. One of my ex JW friends was told by his parents that they never stopped him from attending college. They flat out denied that JWs told an entire generation of adherents not to attend college. So to the degree that we need to talk amongst ourselves to make sure we are not susceptible to gas lighting – it’s good to our the lies and reference documentation. Of communications. But beyond reclaiming our sanity we should not get lost in the rhetoric. Eckhardt Tolle says, fighting against anything only begets more of that thing. The war on drugs, he gives as an example – created more drug trafficking. This aligns with the spiritual wisdom of Reality Transurfing and the concept of pendulums. Giving energy to a pendulum whether positive or negative strengthens the pendulum. And some of these very dogmatic religions are definitely pendulums. Wanting to step off the pendulum all together I have refrained from speaking out against the religion of my childhood much. I try instead to transmute its influence in my life, to keep a positive perspective and reclaim the value of the experience in ways that are meaningful rather than shameful. After all we studied the Bible and attended training in a ministry school that would equate to graduating from seminary with a full doctoral degree in ministry and priesthood. Sadly, I’ve had to receive my recognized status as reverend and wedding officiant from the Universal Life church because the JW organization failed us despite our education to study and service. One day soon I’m sure they will reinstate the Kingdom Ministry school as a full fledged and accredited (by them) theological degree program. It would be the perfect compliment to their stance against college attendance. I don’t know why they haven’t thought of it already. They could profit hugely from issuing degrees for past time served to ex JWs and in so doing give back karmically to a great number of people who were wronged by this organization. You know they have all the records of attendance, practical application in service and presentations at meetings not to mention the exercise of preparing for and getting baptized – like a final exam of sorts. College degrees would seriously improve the earning capacity of all their adherents which I also believe should be a financial incentive to create their own internal seminary school.
I digress. The point here is that we’re moving forward beyond religion. Many now have been raised without religion. Many are leaving religion. Many religions are being shown in new light. Light of day reaching the back rooms and private chambers of a priesthood and elder class that are far from perfect. And that maybe shouldn’t be determining how we understand or walk our path as spiritual beings. Sovereignty is word these days. And freedom. In fact I believe the JWs (and I should know since my family hours back to the beginning g 4 generations ago) were founded on the principals of Protestantism, they believed that each individual should study and know the Bible for themselves. They were rebelling against the notion of religious services in Latin and biblical content strictly interpreted by a few. They wanted everyone to study the religious text they revered, The Bible. But somehow that original intention became wound up in a version of Protestantism that was part of the old template used to control and brainwash. Ironically, no one can disagree with the leadership’s interpretation of the text and still be included in the congregation. And so this bath water must be thrown out too. It smells foul.
With Ai in the horizon and TV screens in everyone’s hands with everyone able to be their own content creator at little to no cost – this revolution is getting interesting. And the need to develop discernment and intuition has never been greater. Truth isn’t a word. It’s a feeling. A vibration. We must discern the difference.
